What came as news to me was that every ceiling in the Vatican is amazing.
It was as if each Pope tried to outdo the other when it came to ceilings.

![]() Inside St. Peter's. See that canopy? It's made of bronze, taken from the freize of the Pantheon and melted down. I gather the Romans weren't too happy about that. I don't blame them. |
