Excerpts
We arrive in Bologna.
Our first stop in Bologna was the Palazzo Comunale, in a square. It's basically like city hall. There was some kind of school event going on at the time, with lots of kids and organized noise.

There's also a museum in the Palazzo. We didn't have time to go through it, but we did go up the steps that were also designed for horses.

That's me on the right.

Bologna has a lot of covered arcades. Beautiful, aren't they?

This was the most unusual arcade I saw.

The arcades weren't the only sign of the city's medieval heritage.

Arcades weren't the only unusual things I spotted while walking through Bologna.

Via Malcontenti?
What's up with that street, I wonder?

As a good Canadian, how could I not take a picture of this?

We reached the Piazza Maggiore and found, among other things, a statue of Neptune. With some rather unusual additions.

Our day wasn't done yet! From Bologna, we continued on to the breath-taking San Marino.
